Atma Singh is an experienced strategic thinker, policy consultant and corporate trainer.
He played a high profile role as policy adviser to the Mayor of London from 2000 to 2007 as well as a member of the Mayor's team of key policy advisers in City Hall London. He has an impressive track of achievements in this role. He forged important partnerships with London key organisations to influence London's global agenda incorporating Asia. He led a successful official campaign for London to embrace Asian culture through its pro-active promotion at different levels and by forging new partnerships for it.
Atma vigorously led a massive policy and strategic change in London on Asian Affairs to respond to the rise of Asia in the world and shaped London's strategic positioning as a world city seeking to attract investment by Asia and Asian people. The change was highly successful and directly led to London becoming a world centre for global Asian business players. He also promoted Asian representation in London's public affairs to break the old glass ceilings.
He supported London's 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games bid including by hosting many public and City Hall events on behalf of the Mayor of London. He spoke publicly and lobbied internationally for the bid. This bid was, of course, successful.
He also led a policy revolution to ensure City Hall and the Greater London Authority prioritised Asian Affairs to align it with global changes as well as economic changes in the West. This benefited London in dramatic ways despite the many challenges he encountered during this change.

Corporate Trainer
Atma Singh has been a forward-looking and progressive corporate trainer for most of his professional life.
He has been a Senior Human Resource development Consultant for a London local authority in its corporate department. He has worked with all levels of organisations and brought different solutions to shape organisational change and excellence. He has been a training lead for a national voluntary sector umbrella body developing numerous national training programme and partnerships in this role and participating in many key policy initiatives. He champions diversity training and makes his own rich contribution to it.
Atma served as a board member of some official and voluntary sector bodies. He has served in a grant evaluation role in some of these positions. He has been an adviser to some business bodies on articulating and promoting their business agendas.
Atma embarked on extending his considerable intellectual and strategic thinking horizons to the question of globalisation and capitalism. He champions the idea of a progressive capitalism as an idea and as a historical reality. He has started writing insightful essays in this area.
Strategically, in terms of policy, he defends the right of Israel to exist and to be free from boycotts or anti-semitism. Equally, he defends the West against unfair attacks by showing the immense progressive development of the West.
Atma was the first person from his Secondary School to attend Oxbridge and went to study law in Queens' College Cambridge University. He has a BA Honours degree in Politics from the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne. He has a further education teaching certificate and a training certificate. He was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts in 1998.
